Overture Networks Enables COLT to Expand Global Ethernet Footprint

COLT Leverages Overture Networks to Deliver Advanced Managed Ethernet Services with Reduced Costs and Complexity

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, JANUARY 19, 2009 — Overture Networks, the industry’s trusted Carrier Ethernet solutions provider, announces that COLT, a leading provider of business communications, has chosen Overture Networks’ advanced multi-service Ethernet solutions for their managed services expansion. COLT will leverage the full suite of Overture Networks’ products, including the new ISG 6000, to provide next-generation Ethernet services, while maximizing its service reach and revenue potential.

“Overture Networks’ flexible and easily implemented product line, together with its world-class customer support, made our decision to make the company a key supplier an easy one,” said DrAlireza Mahmoodshahi, COLT’s Chief Technology Officer. “The Overture solution enhances COLT’s next-generation network and provides a complementary solution for the expansion of our award-winning Ethernet services.”

Using the Overture Networks’ ISG 34, ISG 45, ISG 180 and the ISG 26 for advanced Ethernet access and demarcation, together with the new ISG 6000 for first level aggregation, COLT is developing a new suite of E-Line and E-LAN Ethernet services to address the growing demand from customers for fully managed services. Using standards-based OAM functionality from Overture to guarantee Ethernet services, COLT is enabling both regional and global enterprises to leverage the same services regardless of location. In addition, COLT has end-to-end visibility of Ethernet services over any infrastructure, ensuring that customer service level agreements are met. Overture Networks’ multi-service solutions feature Hierarchical Quality of Service (HQoS) for the delivery of differentiated services over diverse networks. Overture Networks’ products also feature integrated provisioning tools that offer extensive provisioning, maintenance support and management. This will allow COLT to benefit from faster provisioning and reduce CAPEX and OPEX for a lower total cost of ownership.

“As leading service providers like COLT make the move to deliver more intuitive services to a broader service area, they need solutions that enable them to do this quickly and efficiently, over any infrastructure,” said Jeff Reedy, CEO of Overture Networks. “Our full suite of solutions, including the ISG 6000, meets the needs of all types and sizes of service providers looking for purpose-built and carrier-tested platforms that can help them reach almost any customer location throughout the world.”
